UAE IAA welcomes article submissions from professionals who can bring clear, practical, and original perspectives to the internal audit community. Please review the policy before submitting your article details.
1. Purpose
This policy establishes a structured framework governing the submission, review, approval, and publication of content contributed to the UAE Internal Auditors Association (UAE IAA).
It aims to:
- Ensure high-quality, credible, and relevant thought leadership
- Safeguard the integrity and reputation of the association
- Enable effective curation of submissions
- Promote knowledge sharing and advancement of the internal audit profession
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- All members and contributors
- Guest contributors (where applicable)
- Content intended for publication on the association's website, newsletters, or social media platforms
3. Guiding Principles
All blog submissions must:
- Align with the association's mission and professional standards
- Maintain professionalism, accuracy, and integrity
- Provide practical insights and value to the internal audit community
- Respect diversity, inclusivity, and cultural sensitivities
- Maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest
4. Content Strategy and Themes
Priority will be given to content aligned with:
- Internal audit innovation and emerging trends
- Risk management and governance practices
- Technology in auditing (AI, data analytics)
- Regulatory developments and regional insights
- Case studies and best practices
5. Submission Requirements
All contributors must submit the following:
- Article (800-1500 words unless otherwise approved)
- Author biography (50-100 words)
- Conflict of interest declaration
- Supporting references (if applicable)
Required Structure:
- Title
- Executive summary (optional but preferred)
- Main content
- Key takeaways / Conclusion
6. Content Standards
6.1. Originality
- Content must be original and not previously published elsewhere (unless disclosed and approved)
- Plagiarism is strictly prohibited and may be verified using detection tools
- Bibliography, if any, must use MLA 9 citation
- Reference work from other sources must be cited in-text
- The association can assist in procuring images from available services providers
6.2. Accuracy and Credibility
- Information must be factually accurate and, where relevant, supported by credible sources
6.3. Opinions must be clearly distinguished from facts Tone and Language
- Use respectful, non-offensive, and inclusive language
- Avoid political endorsements, religious bias, or controversial opinions unrelated to the association's mission
6.4. Practical Value
- Submissions must provide actionable insights, not purely theoretical discussion
6.5. Use of AI Tools
AI-assisted tools may be used; however:
- Authors remain fully responsible for content accuracy and originality
- AI-generated content must be reviewed and validated
- AI must not constitute most of the submission
7. Prohibited Content
Submissions must not include:
- Plagiarized or misleading content
- Client-identifiable data unless fully anonymized
- Hate speech, discrimination, or defamatory statements
- Confidential or sensitive information
- Commercial advertising or unauthorized promotions
8. Submission and Review Process
All submissions will follow a structured review process:
- Stage 1: Initial Screening
- Verification of submission completeness and compliance with policy requirements
- Stage 2: Editorial Review
- Assessment of content quality, clarity, relevance, and alignment with UAE IAA objectives
- Stage 3: Technical Review (if required)
- Subject Matter Expert review for technical accuracy and depth
- Stage 4: Final Approval
- Decision by the Editorial Committee
UAE IAA reserves the right to request revisions, accept, or reject submissions at any stage
9. Editorial Governance
An Editorial Committee will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and approving submissions
- Ensuring quality and consistency of published content
- Aligning content with UAE IAA's strategic direction
The Committee may include:
- Editorial lead
- Subject matter experts
- Communications representatives
10. Evaluation Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on:
- Relevance to the internal audit profession
- Practical applicability and value
- Originality and thought leadership
- Technical accuracy
- Clarity, structure, and readability
- Compliance with policy requirements
UAE IAA may utilize a formal scoring framework to support decision-making.
11. Review Timelines
- Standard review timeline: 2 to 4 weeks from submission
- UAE IAA reserves the right to prioritize or delay publication based on editorial needs
12. Intellectual Property
- Authors retain ownership of their work
- By submitting content, authors grant the association a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publish, edit, distribute and repurpose content across platforms
- Proper attribution will be provided to the author
- UAE IAA reserves the right to adapt formatting, style, and presentation
13. Conflict of Interest Disclosure
- Authors must disclose any personal, financial, or professional interests related to the content
- Failure to disclose conflicts of interest may result in rejection or removal of content
14. Confidentiality and Data Protection
- Contributors must not disclose confidential or personal data without proper authorization
- All content must comply with applicable data protection laws
- Case studies must be anonymized to prevent identification of individuals or organizations
- Authors must obtain permission from their organization, if required, prior to submission of the blog to the association
15. Liability Disclaimer
- Views expressed in blogs are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the association's official position
- The association is not liable for any inaccuracies or opinions expressed
16. Breach of Policy
Failure to comply with this policy may result in:
- Rejection and/or removal of content
- Suspension of submission privileges
- Escalation to UAE IAA governance committee for further action
17. Author Recognition
Approved contributors may receive:
- Recognition as a UAE IAA contributor
- Opportunities for featured publication
- Potential CPE recognition, where applicable
18. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as required to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness..
